Spring cleaning

Hi everybody,

Isn't this weather lovely?  It's inspired me to continue with my Spring Cleaning.  Just now I found on a pile of papers, that I wanted to save for some reason, this cute little note.  It's got Charlie Brown and Snoopy on it and it says, "Be Jolly!"

It's a thank you note from a client who has been with me a long time.  She met me when I was already doing BodyTalk and a few other modalities.  She's been my guinea pig as I practiced Emotion Code, Body Code, and CFT.  I greatly admire this client's commitment to her health!  She's a real trooper!!

Here's what she writes in reference to a "So glad you're my practitioner" gift she sent me in the mail.

Just a little something.  Thanks for all the emotion code work you did on my family and CFT on me.  It means a lot and feels so good to get rid of these emotions!

All my love,

C

When a person is learning all sorts of energy healing tools, many people do not understand how it can work.
We're so used to popping a pill or getting body parts cut out.  I truly admire people who open their minds to the wonderful natural healing tools that we have nowadays.  From herbs to aromatherapy to essential oils to BodyTalk, these are gifts from God that I truly cherish!!

Have a marvelous Spring,

Dawn

The miracles continue!!

I apologize, once again, for my absence!!!  When I saw that it's been over 3 years since I posted here, I was quite mortified!!!  The thought which troubled me is this: being I started this second blog to share positive feedback which I receive from my clients, what does it say when I don't post?  With 2 weddings in my family in the past 2 years, I got behind in sharing my results here!  However, I HAVE been VERY busy helping others as this small sampling of gratitude will show!!!

When I began LINKS TO HEALING blog, my hope was to help new clients see all that my services are capable of helping them with.  That's why I shared letters, emails, and cards from happy clients.  I still like this idea and hope to get back to it and I am beginning now.  You will notice in the few responses, which I've enclosed, that bodies are healing; minds are becoming peaceful; even marriages are improving as a result of the services which I provide!

This is the email which prompted my return to this "Place" this morning.  It's from a client who recently purchased 3 Emotion Code sessions from me.  This is my entry level program to jump start folks on their way to greater peace and joy in life.  She writes:

The pain is gone now.  WOW!  God is so good!!  I am always learning.  Thanks for explaining it to me!  I know I have to remember that "It isn't up to me to fix everything.  A E

Another client recently wrote to me thanking me for helping her.  This is a woman who appears to have her life ALL TOGETHER and yet has deep wounds from growing up in an alcoholic home.  It's been a joy for her to learn that it's OK to love herself.  I received this email last week.  By the way, D had also asked if anything could be done to help her relate better to her husband.  She deeply loves him yet here lately they have been rubbing each other the wrong way.

I am feeling more loving little by little as the hours pass by...  Truly a different type of sparkle with my husband.  I have been loving to him, but a spark kind of loving, and now I have the sparkle too!
Thanks so so so so so Much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  D D

Almost every day I get notes in the mail, along with checks for services, saying things like this.

THANKS, DAWN.  LOVE AND GOD BLESS YOU!

Dawn, Here is payment for the three Emotion Code sessions I purchased.  Thank-you for your patience and all your help.  Love,
P M

Here's a more lengthy thank you note from a client whom I have worked with for nearly a year.  Her husband had asked her for a divorce and she didn't want one.  I have been doing Body Code sessions on the marriage itself (I learned this technique in Module 9 of the BodyTalk program) and recently he went with her to counseling!!!! We are hoping that they will fall madly in love with each other and that they will have the marriage that they have NEVER had in 37 years.  How is this possible?  By removing energetic blockages, the natural energy of love and devotion to one's spouse emerge and love is reborn.  I've seen it over and over.  Here's what she says.

Talk with you soon.  Thank you for all your support!  You're a beautiful friend.  I admire how you try so hard to keep growing yourself and to help other people.  Love, D K   Blessings to you and your dear family!

I've had countless notes like this one.  Thank you for all you do!!!  GOD BLESS YOU!!!

They arrive on sticky notes; pretty stationary; backs of envelopes; and in lovely cards!  At times I have told my family that the notes mean more to me than the checks that they arrive with.  To know that God has enabled me to have the skills that can transform lives, marriages, and pets is one of the GREATEST joys of my life!!!

Over the years, I have wished that I could keep them all.  Indeed my daughter put together a scrap book of thank you cards that I've received during the past 10 years.  I smile every time I browse through it!!

I cherish the feedback for it tells me that the work I do IS WORKING!!  That's one of the reasons that I started this blog.  Each person that I've been allowed to work with has left me better in some way.  As I see an individual struggling with some aspect of life, I know that I am NOT alone!!  Indeed, none of us is ever alone!!!  We are all a part of the vast humanness that binds us together.  We all struggle sooner or later.  We all need a friend sooner or later.  We all realize that life is too hard to deal without God's help sooner or later.

So, I close this post with another sticky note message of appreciation from a client.  I've had so many of these over the years that I could wall paper my office with them!!!  This one is on a yellow sticky note and it simply says, Thank you, Dawn!!

I kept that one and maybe always will.  It's from a super sick client who has become a friend over the past couple of years.  She's been ill all her life without ever really knowing why.  In our work together, she discovered that she was raped as a young girl!!!

That knowledge was buried deep inside of her--so deep that it seemed shocking to her when she was able to remember all the details.  However, because off all the layers of pain we had removed for this precious lady, when the time came to work on the actual event, she just sobbed a little and then it was gone!!!!!

I am amazed at how the healing tools God has blessed me with can help people recover even from THAT--from rape and incest.  In fact, helping both men and women recover from sexual abuse has become a specialty of mine.  These hurting ones know that they are safe with me.  They keep working on themselves until the day comes when the trauma of their past no longer haunts them. OH FOR JOY!!!!

If you are feeling led right now, to ask me questions about my work, feel free to email me here:  linkstohealing@gmail.com  Each morning I pray that God will lead those to me that He wants me to help today.  It's such a rich and satisfying life that I often don't have the time to write about it anymore.  This post is an attempt to get back in the habit of sharing the good news that I am blessed to observe every day!!

To the work,

Dawn

Stomach ache is GONE!

I just recieved this nice note on cute paper with the heading, "Rejoice in the Lord!" Phillipian 4:4  It was fascinating that this woman followed her intuition to help the negative energy that was released during her session to move out of her body--sooo cool!!!

Dear Dawn,

Thanks again for the great session on Monday.  What a difference it has made.  I feel so much better.

My stomach doesn't ache any more.  Last night I felt a little quesy and felt I should put my hands over my diaphragm and intestines and move it down.  This morning my stomach ache is gone.

WORDS CAN'T EXPRESS HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE YOU AND WHAT YOU DO!!!

Love,

XXX

Massage convention

Last Tuesday I was getting a massage when the conversation turned to my VibesUp products.  My therapist said, "Have you considered taking your VibesUp stuff to the massage convention?"

"Where is it?" I wondered.

"Right here in Bismarck but it isn't much notice."

"When is it?" I asked.

"This week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday."

BIG gulp.

Well, it was meant to be as they had a table left in the vendor hall and my week ended by doing LOTS of half BodyTalk sessions on massage therapists.

The time flew on Thursday as my friend Roxy joined me and, although Friday afternoon was so slow that I took a little snooze on my table, I had a great time.

I sold enough VibesUp to cover my expenses and hopefully picked up a new client or two.  I sent one to Elizabeth and I now have offers to trade sessions with a large number of massage therapists from the Bismarck-Mandan area.  I may just do that too as one of them does accupuncture and another one does cranio-sacral therapy.

In Roxy's words, "This was a success as you planted many seeds and learned about running a booth in a vendor hall."  The big test will be this Fall at the Great Radionics Expo in Rapid City which Jacob and I are making plans to attend.  I am even on the schedule to share BodyTalk with the radioinics community.  That will be sooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great week and I urge everyone who has a BodyTalk success story to share it here!

God bless,

Dawn

Hoping to help veterans before long

This is absolutely fascinating.  You may recall my hosting a free veterans day last November in my Bismarck office and nobody coming.  Well, that was very discouraging so I thought, "Well, I guess God doesn't want me working with veterans right now."

This morning I received a call from a Vietnam veteran asking for money.  I told him, in essence, "Silver and gold have I none," but I can really help these people with my professional services.  Then, he gave me an address to write and share my offer, which I just did.  Then I went to Facebook and saw that Dr. Veltheim, founder of BodyTalk, had just shared that many veterans are already being helped through alternative health care modalities.

HOW COOL IS THAT?

I share the article with the hopes that, if you know any veterans who are suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome, that you send them to this website.  I plan on doing group phone sessions so that everyone can start healing at once.  There is no charge for group tele-sessions for anyone who has served our country to protect my freedoms.  It's my way of doing SOMETHING to help these people.

PLEASE help me get the word out.

God bless,

Dawn

The future of health care in America and the world at large is integrative medicine. Things like mind-body practices, meditation, yoga, acupuncture, nutrition, and other complementary practices are here to stay.

The Samueli Institute is one of several organizations looking to make integrative medicine available to society as a whole; they are tirelessly working to bring it to the men and women who serve in the U.S. military.

I spoke with Dr. Kevin Berry, the vice president for military medical research at Samueli Institute, on how the military is using integrative medicine. He served in the military for 30 years.

Thanks for the service to our country.
It's been tremendous to be associated with the people I've been associated with. It's been about growth and seeing things that I would never have a chance to see. I think that's why after retiring I didn't want to get too far away from the military. I've been very fortunate to find the Samueli Institute.

I read on your site that over 50 percent of the military uses integrative medicine.
We've done surveys on that, and there are more than what we see in the general population. I think that may be under reported -- probably on the civilian side also. I don't think that people think of [it], particularly these young kids that are into muscle-building. They're in GNC and they're buying this and that; that's also a part of this story.
We did a leadership needs assessment -- I'm not at liberty to say which base or which service. So I'll use it in more general terms. We're suspicious to say that it wouldn't matter if it was Army or Navy, or this base or that base. But after 10 years of war, we are seeing that these leaders, the colonels, and the lieutenants are maintaining their physical health, their ability to run and all that jazz, but we are seeing deterioration of emotional strength. We're seeing the concerns they have with the tolls on their family, and with it we are seeing this dichotomy on one side there going to it in big numbers, but there's another component that thinks if you go to mind-body or medical massage you are skipping out on being hard.
If you go over to Special Forces, in their contract world they put together a human performance and resilience contract. They haven't awarded it yet, but they are looking to put hard cash on the barrel head. To bring in a whole group of people that would be working with Special Forces and their family members to build resiliency, to include mind-body, nutrition, to help people work on the work/life balance.

You mentioned Special Forces. Are the Navy Seals using integrative medicine, as well?

Yeah, all the services. Special Forces have been doing that for probably a lot longer; I don't think they think of it as unusual any more. I think they've just included as just [a] thing that they do. Martial arts and tai chi are not that much different; it's a physical discipline that gets you back into the moment. There's pretty good evidence that sharp shooters will lower their heart rate and control their heart rate variability as they're contemplating a shot. I think that's probably true of Olympic shooters.

Can you talk about some the research that's been going on with PTSD?
Yeah, we talk about the right of boom and the left of boom. The boom can be any type of traumatic event; we think we need to be working on both sides. So the pre-exposure work that we've done, that looks to teach soldiers some mindfulness. One of them is called War-Ops Warrior Optimization. It's a proprietary for-profit firm that one of the army generals wanted for his units that were going out to Afghanistan and Iraq back in 2009. They asked us to evaluate if it makes any difference, and it was just four hours of mind-body activities. The trends are pretty strong that this makes a difference.
We were just talking here in the last day or two that the Marine Special Forces MARSOC is looking like they are going to purchase this training. They are going to take it a step further and try to reinforce it through leadership and leaders to remind people of it while they're deployed. It looks like we are proposing an evaluation of that. Another example of that would be looking at the Benson-Henry approach for a group of people who have been identified with PTSD.
Another approach is acupuncture for headaches. We have a study going on at Walter Reed and at Fort Belvoir in the Wounded Warrior community with those that are diagnosed with PTSD and chronic headaches. We're still collecting data on that one. That's just to give you an idea of what we're doing.

That brings up the question that all Special Forces, Olympic athletes, mixed martial artists in the UFC [...] use the breathing component to curb the stress response. Can you talk about breathing and the stress response?
That's one of the common things we see in many of these type of programs. Whether it's yoga nidra when you're working with a causality who's physically impaired and maybe recent from surgery. Becoming mindful, using breathing, and getting the mind to focus on breathing. Getting the chest expansion to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which can balance the overactive sympathetic system. That's just one example, simple, straightforward meditation, starts with breathing. Special Forces units might use tai chi for an example.

Well, thank you very much, it was great interviewing you.
