Hoping to help veterans before long

This is absolutely fascinating.  You may recall my hosting a free veterans day last November in my Bismarck office and nobody coming.  Well, that was very discouraging so I thought, "Well, I guess God doesn't want me working with veterans right now."

This morning I received a call from a Vietnam veteran asking for money.  I told him, in essence, "Silver and gold have I none," but I can really help these people with my professional services.  Then, he gave me an address to write and share my offer, which I just did.  Then I went to Facebook and saw that Dr. Veltheim, founder of BodyTalk, had just shared that many veterans are already being helped through alternative health care modalities.

HOW COOL IS THAT?

I share the article with the hopes that, if you know any veterans who are suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome, that you send them to this website.  I plan on doing group phone sessions so that everyone can start healing at once.  There is no charge for group tele-sessions for anyone who has served our country to protect my freedoms.  It's my way of doing SOMETHING to help these people.

PLEASE help me get the word out.

God bless,

Dawn

The future of health care in America and the world at large is integrative medicine. Things like mind-body practices, meditation, yoga, acupuncture, nutrition, and other complementary practices are here to stay.

The Samueli Institute is one of several organizations looking to make integrative medicine available to society as a whole; they are tirelessly working to bring it to the men and women who serve in the U.S. military.

I spoke with Dr. Kevin Berry, the vice president for military medical research at Samueli Institute, on how the military is using integrative medicine. He served in the military for 30 years.

Thanks for the service to our country.
It's been tremendous to be associated with the people I've been associated with. It's been about growth and seeing things that I would never have a chance to see. I think that's why after retiring I didn't want to get too far away from the military. I've been very fortunate to find the Samueli Institute.

I read on your site that over 50 percent of the military uses integrative medicine.
We've done surveys on that, and there are more than what we see in the general population. I think that may be under reported -- probably on the civilian side also. I don't think that people think of [it], particularly these young kids that are into muscle-building. They're in GNC and they're buying this and that; that's also a part of this story.
We did a leadership needs assessment -- I'm not at liberty to say which base or which service. So I'll use it in more general terms. We're suspicious to say that it wouldn't matter if it was Army or Navy, or this base or that base. But after 10 years of war, we are seeing that these leaders, the colonels, and the lieutenants are maintaining their physical health, their ability to run and all that jazz, but we are seeing deterioration of emotional strength. We're seeing the concerns they have with the tolls on their family, and with it we are seeing this dichotomy on one side there going to it in big numbers, but there's another component that thinks if you go to mind-body or medical massage you are skipping out on being hard.
If you go over to Special Forces, in their contract world they put together a human performance and resilience contract. They haven't awarded it yet, but they are looking to put hard cash on the barrel head. To bring in a whole group of people that would be working with Special Forces and their family members to build resiliency, to include mind-body, nutrition, to help people work on the work/life balance.

You mentioned Special Forces. Are the Navy Seals using integrative medicine, as well?

Yeah, all the services. Special Forces have been doing that for probably a lot longer; I don't think they think of it as unusual any more. I think they've just included as just [a] thing that they do. Martial arts and tai chi are not that much different; it's a physical discipline that gets you back into the moment. There's pretty good evidence that sharp shooters will lower their heart rate and control their heart rate variability as they're contemplating a shot. I think that's probably true of Olympic shooters.

Can you talk about some the research that's been going on with PTSD?
Yeah, we talk about the right of boom and the left of boom. The boom can be any type of traumatic event; we think we need to be working on both sides. So the pre-exposure work that we've done, that looks to teach soldiers some mindfulness. One of them is called War-Ops Warrior Optimization. It's a proprietary for-profit firm that one of the army generals wanted for his units that were going out to Afghanistan and Iraq back in 2009. They asked us to evaluate if it makes any difference, and it was just four hours of mind-body activities. The trends are pretty strong that this makes a difference.
We were just talking here in the last day or two that the Marine Special Forces MARSOC is looking like they are going to purchase this training. They are going to take it a step further and try to reinforce it through leadership and leaders to remind people of it while they're deployed. It looks like we are proposing an evaluation of that. Another example of that would be looking at the Benson-Henry approach for a group of people who have been identified with PTSD.
Another approach is acupuncture for headaches. We have a study going on at Walter Reed and at Fort Belvoir in the Wounded Warrior community with those that are diagnosed with PTSD and chronic headaches. We're still collecting data on that one. That's just to give you an idea of what we're doing.

That brings up the question that all Special Forces, Olympic athletes, mixed martial artists in the UFC [...] use the breathing component to curb the stress response. Can you talk about breathing and the stress response?
That's one of the common things we see in many of these type of programs. Whether it's yoga nidra when you're working with a causality who's physically impaired and maybe recent from surgery. Becoming mindful, using breathing, and getting the mind to focus on breathing. Getting the chest expansion to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which can balance the overactive sympathetic system. That's just one example, simple, straightforward meditation, starts with breathing. Special Forces units might use tai chi for an example.

Well, thank you very much, it was great interviewing you.

A year long headache removed

I just received this email today from a dear client whom I have worked with for about 3 years.  I was so happy to read her good report!!!

A matrix is an energy pattern that gets established in the body when someone in authority uses their power over someone to scare them into doing something.  The longer the matrix has been in the body, the more extreme the pain and misery will be.

In this case the client's first grade teacher was an immensely cruel person which caused fear to begin growing in the skull.  Why that location?  Who can say except that perhaps the client leaned on that part of her head while listening to the teacher as that is a location where I rest my hand on my head when I am listening intently.

In Deb's own words, I share this good report!

I have been treated by Dawn for a chronic condition for about three years.

Within the last year, I noticed a spot on my head that was constantly sore, and it began to weekly (sometimes for days at a time) produce headaches that encompassed the entire right side of my head, neck and face. Aspirin, etc., did not relieve the pain, just dulled it sometimes.

My husband was encouraging me to get a C-T Scan because he was worried that it could be a tumor. About two weeks ago, the head pain came up during a “distance” session with Dawn.

She found that it was a matrix that had been there for about 50 years; that at one time, it served a purpose; but it was no longer serving that purpose, whatever it may have been.

During that session, she “cut” the tentacles of the matrix, and energetically removed the matrix from my head.  When the session was finished, Dawn advised me to place a heating pad over the spot on my head for 10-20 minutes on that day, and to do so several more times during the next month.

My head did feel better, so as soon as our distance session was over, I placed a heating pad on my head and sat down to relax. Less than ten minutes into my “relaxation”, I started cramping, became sick to my stomach and nauseated; when I stood, I felt as if I might faint and/or vomit. I made it to the bathroom and “expelled” the pain.

The next day, I contacted Dawn and she excitedly told me that what I had described was a “great release”. Since that time, I have anxiously waited to see if the sore spot on my head and the pain would return, but it has not. I am so grateful that this layer has been removed and we can move forward for further, and total healing.

  Thank you Dawn.

More confident

Recently a client came in whom I have known for over 20 years.  It was great seeing her much more confident than she used to be.   I asked J. how she sees feels she has changed in the 3 years since we began working together.  Her list was incredible.

J. started out by saying that she is much more confident than she used to be.  She said, "My coping skills are much greater!"

When I asked her if this means that she deals with less pain on a daily basis, without any hesitation she said, "Absolutely."  I have seen this over and over!  When a client gets rid of limiting beliefs, their confidence grows and their stress levels decrease which translates into less physical pain.

My friend went on and said, "I'm much kinder to myself than before I did BodyTalk."  She was able to give examples from many different parts of her life including that now detailed paperwork is not so threatening to her.  In other words, when J. kept telling herself that she couldn't do detailed work, she made it a reality and this, in turn, made her treat herself poorly.  Now that she has less stress, she can think more clearly so she can do better work and she feels better about herself.  How cool is that?

Putting all of this together, J. finds that she has much less anxiety than before she began working with me.  It makes sense, when a person feels more capable to deal with life, it is less threatening and anxiety diminishes.

If you would like to have more confidence; less anxiety; and end up being kinder to yourself, drop me a note at: linkstohealing@gmail.com.  In the meantime, feel free to read other testimonials posted on this blog to your right!

Keep smiling,

Dawn

Appreciation

There have been miracles since I wrote here 4 months ago--so many that I can't even remember them all but I'll do my best.

A client couldn't go on after her mother's death until her session released a whirlwind of emotions.  Afterwards she looked decades younger.

A client was able to release her brother who died without a reconciliation in the relationship.

A client was able to face her need to start verbalizing her needs to her husband with hopes of preventing a divorce.

A client was able to admit that she's being abused in her marriage and left stronger to face the truth.

A client was finally able to say that her father was evil for sexually abusing her for years.

A client was able to buy a headstone for his brother's grave after taking the leadership role in his family of origin.

A client was able to get through her daughter's graduation with tons of people showing up who don't get along with each other.

A client was able to see how much appreciation he really owed his mother who, though a single parent, paid for him to attend a private, Christian school.

A client was able to see that the whole world did not depend on him although he was in a position of great responsibility.

A client was able to feel his mother's love for the first time in his life after searching for it endlessly.

A client was able to sleep in his own bed after 9 years of sleeping on the couch.

A client was able to see better; another to hear better; another to taste better.

A client was able to help her friend by dealing with her feelings of their upcoming separation because of going on to collage.

A client was able to deal with the stress of seeing her (through marriage) and her husband's children shipped off to their mother 10 states away.

A skin problem disappeared.

Dementia was thrown back where it belongs...........................

I could go on, as I search my memory bank, but I think you get the picture.

This card arrived the other day from Elizabeth Hanson, whom God used to save my life.  It helped so much and I pray that you will apply this to yourselves, as you read it, as I am certain that it applies to you too.

The card is of a wheat field and it says on the front:

GOD IS USING YOU FOR HIS SPECIAL PURPOSE.
To SHINE His light.
To SHARE His love.
To SHAPE His people.

The second page reads:

You are making a DIFFERENCE
In ways you don't even realize.

And on the inside it reads:

And you're VERY much appreciated.

The verse reads:

God is able to make ALL grace abound to you, so that in all things at ALL times, having ALL that you need, you will abound in EVERY GOOD WORK!!!

2 Corinthians 9:8

I think you can see why I was encouraged to keep on doing the good work which the Lord has set before me.  I pray that you were encouraged also!

Feel the shift

The other day a special client sent me this letter along with her check for her last session.  You can see here that BodyTalk doesn't only work on physical problems but on the emotional ones behind them.  As my friend, Ed Kelly, says, "Let's find the cause behind the cause and fix that."  Here's the letter.

Dear Dawn,

Thank you for the awesome session last week.  WOW!  Do I feel better.  You were right, I was irritable the next day towards evening.  (I knew this because her body urged me to prepare her for it).  Thanks for the heads up on that.  I hope Robert is doing okay after having so many teeth pulled.
  Blessings on your week.
  Love,
  XXXXXXXX

PS.  I wanted you to know that I feel much stronger!  It's hard for me to explain but I also feel it is easier for me to know better what is the "Right" thing to do or say in my relationships and life.  I feel I am better able to give my opinion; not be ashamed of it; and to be bolder.  I am not there yet, but I feel the shift.

How cool is that?  If you are wanting to see this kind of change in your life, just drop me a note here and we'll get you going on the higher road too!

Have a great week!

Family ties

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry that I haven't taken the time to share sessions reports here--I'm doing well if I get them sent out to folks after their sessions.  However, I did receive this email today, in response to his session reports, which inspired me to get back to posting here again--at least this once.

Nothing burdens me more (other than lost souls) than dysfunctional families.  I lived in one as a child and began my marriage in one.  Praise God for all that He has taught me about how to have healthy relationships.  Praise God, too, for BodyTalk which turns off those tapes that play in our subconscious minds with lies like, "You're stupid,"  or "You're a nobody," or "You're hopeless,"..........

I've been working with a young man for a couple of years now.  He has made minimal progress.  A few weeks ago his father brought him in for another session.  In utter desperation, the father shared how the mother and this son's relationship had become so strained that she FIRED him.  That's right, the son was employed by the mother to help clean office buildings.  When he was so forgetful that he was NOT helping her at all, she got fed up with him and fired him and would have kicked him out of the house if it weren't for a faithful father.

What came up that day was that the mother was needing the father to be a surrogate for her so we did the session that way while I ran the son on the machine.  We learned that day that the mother had had something extremely stressful happen to her during her pregnancy with this boy.  All of those negative energies had gone into him and her son had felt her rejection ALL OF HIS LIFE!  No wonder he had to tune her out to keep himself going.  There's not a person on the planet who is strong enough to live with continual rejection from a parent and not go insane.  I told the father, "It's my opinion that your prayers for this boy have kept him from becoming a lunatic or a criminal."  Personally Jacob and I both like this young man VERY much!

Then, at the end of that session, it came up that the son is needing intense treatments.  This means that we do the sessions whenever the body needs one.  In other words, I check every morning to see if the body needs another session.  When I needed this to get well, my body wanted 3 sessions a week for 2 weeks; 2 sessions a week for a month; and then weekly sessions for several months--THEN I GOT WELL!

Well, this young man's body did not want any sessions for 2 full weeks after the last one.  Then, last week he came up as a priority for me that day.  I did half the session one night and the other half the next day just as his body wanted it.  This is what his body said it needed.  I will keep checking every day to see if this is a priority again and, when it is, I'll do another session.

Being finances are tight for this family, I knew that I had to come up with a way to keep the energy flow between us going both ways.   In return for my intense sessions, the father promises to pray for my father's and my relationship to be restored.  I've prayed for this all my life, to no avail, so I figured that extra prayer is what's needed just like this son needs extra sessions.  It's a good trade of energies.

Well, this morning I received this email and I cried.  I literally cried tears of joy for about 10 minutes as I pondered the power of BodyTalk and radionics combined.  Nothing is sweeter to me than seeing families heal so I hope that you will rejoice along with me as you read this father's words of hope.

Dawn,

I did not receive these two emails from you
until Monday morning(2/13) so I was waging the
battle but unaware that you were standing in the gap.

Thanks.

Would you recommend that I share these two emails
with (the mom) or find some other way to tell her about
your observations?

I have been praying for you and your dad, like I promised
and will stay in that gap for you.

Glad to hear Cora was not hurt, our God will supply her
needs also.

As far as getting (the son) away from his mom for a while, I have
zero options at this point and nowhere for him to go, plus she
has decided to re-hire him, to give him another chance, so
they are working together again on a daily basis.

I have noticed a softening in her towards him lately.

Your brother loves you,

Thanks again.

XXXXX
What this means, then, is that 2 sessions on behalf of this family have already begun the healing process between this mother who has (Subconsciously) despised her son for nothing that he did all of his life.  WOW!  Can you grasp what hope this gives me for families everywhere who haven't got a clue why they are so upset with each other.  PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His humble servant,

Dawn

Grief

This note came with a check yesterday which brought up another aspect of getting BodyTalk sessions. If a person has unprocessed grief, and it comes up in their session, they may get moody for a few days as the emotions process out after the session.

Whenever GRIEF comes up in a session then, I check with their body if they will be weepy for awhile. If the answer is YES, I ask how many days they can expect to be depressed as the emotions process through. I let the client know this so that they can expect it and know that this is GOOD!
It is pent up emotions, such as grief which is very powerful, which is keeping many of us from being happy. If we're not happy, who wants to keep living? Therefore, if YOU are not happy, it is highly probable that you would benefit from BodyTalk sessions. Here's the note exactly as written.

Dear Dawn,
Thank you for the session. It is always nice to share that time with you.
I have been/was weepy so am hoping the grief is coming out.

I'm praying for you.
Blessings,
